Blast Thru is a supercharged variant of those old arcade
standards, Breakout and Pong in which you must use a ball and paddle
to break through a wall of bricks to the next level. It has impressive
sound effects, adrenaline-pumping music, great graphics (apart from
a somewhat dazzling background), and wonderful gameplay, owing a lot
to the preeminent Breakout variant, DX Ball. The wall consists of bricks
with varying characteristics, some impervious to the usual ball. You'll
need to collect powerups to break through all the bricks and advance,
but you'll have to avoid powerdowns that can reduce the size of your
paddle, speed up the ball, and cause numerous other disasters to befall
you. The registered version of the game has 40 levels and enables you
to create and save your own levels.
